Hi,
we’re the family behind The HanScene.
We’re an ordinary family of three living in Songpa, Seoul, and we started this blog because we wanted to share Korean culture with people around the world in a fun, simple, and honest way.
Korea is changing fast, and there is always something interesting happening here: food trends, music, dramas, movies, travel spots, local slang, school life, cafés, street fashion, seasonal events, and random little things that might seem normal to Koreans but feel new or surprising to people from other countries.
The HanScene is our way of opening a small window into everyday Korea.
This blog is for anyone who is curious about Korean culture but does not always know where to start. We want to explain things in a way that feels easy to understand, not like a textbook. Sometimes we’ll write about popular Korean food or drama locations. Sometimes we’ll explain Korean trends, news, customs, or social topics that people outside Korea might find confusing or interesting.
We also want this to be a place for conversation.
If there is something about Korea you want to know, you can send us your questions or ideas. We’ll try to research the topic, check reliable sources, and explain it as clearly and honestly as we can. We may not know everything, but we’re always curious, and we enjoy learning more about our own country through other people’s questions.
Our hope is that The HanScene can help more people understand Korea beyond just the famous parts. K-pop and K-dramas are amazing, but Korea is also full of everyday stories, local places, small habits, funny expressions, and real people.
Thanks for being here.
We hope this blog helps you feel a little closer to Korea, and maybe we can become global friends along the way.
